Between 1982 and 1984, John owned and operated a landscape company, where he built and maintained luxury gardens. He became a Residential Realtor from 1984 to 1988 (which provided great insight into buying, selling and mortgaging properties). During that time, John attended night school through the Calgary Board of Education studying both electrical wiring and plumbing. He also took welding classes and cabinet making at SAIT.

John’s first complete home renovation was in 1989. He conducted all his own work. Since then, he has completed many “full rebuild” projects, mostly on his own properties, which he does the bulk of the work himself. If the project is too large, John steps into the contractor role, but he is fully capable of taking on any tasks required (though, he admits he’s very slow at framing).

In the early 1990’s, together with a partner, they built two luxury boutique stores in Mount Royal Village, including all the custom racking and furniture.

Tim has 20 years of construction experience, ranging from demolition, framing, insulation/vapour barrier, concrete work, self-levelling, drywall, taping, mudding, custom tile work, cabinet installation, door install, trim, painting, exterior work, landscaping, and all finishing details. He has also been involved in the management and high-level coordination on some larger projects.
